I Had to Mix My Own Prostate Supplement at the Kitchen Counter. So I Built a Company to Do It Right.

I Had to Mix My Own Prostate Supplement at the Kitchen Counter. So I Built a Company to Do It Right.

At 62, I heard the words every man dreads: prostate cancer. Gleason 3+4. I have an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old, a wife who is a trial lawyer, and no nanny or grandparents down the street. In our house, nobody has the luxury of getting sick.

My treatment went well. But I have spent more than 30 years as a CFA managing risk, and I know that “went well” is not the same as “done.” So after the kids were in bed, I did what I always do. I read the research.

The study nobody had turned into a product

I found something remarkable. University of Texas researchers had screened more than 140 natural compounds and singled out two that worked better together than apart: curcumin, from turmeric, and ursolic acid, found in apple peel and rosemary. A follow-up study in healthy men found that taking them together raised ursolic acid blood levels about 16 times, and both were safe and well tolerated at the studied amounts.

Then I went to buy it. I couldn’t. Nobody sold the pair. So I stood at my kitchen counter before school drop-off with two bottles, counting capsules, guessing at purity, and swallowing dry powders with a fatty breakfast because curcumin barely absorbs on its own. I make my living refusing to guess. I was guessing every morning.

That is why I started Medaris Health.

A different kind of supplement company

Walk down any supplement aisle and you will see the problem. Products built on trends instead of studies. Doses cut to a fraction of what any research used. “Proprietary blends” that hide how much you actually get. And labels that, when outside labs check, too often do not match the bottle.

Medaris Health is an evidence-first dietary supplement company, and we start somewhere different. Promising natural combinations often sit in published research for years. Because ingredients like curcumin cannot be patented, few companies will pay for the decade-long, billion-dollar path to an approved drug, so good science stalls. We look for exactly those gaps: a real health need, people actively searching for help, and human research that no product on the shelf has followed. Then we make what was studied, exactly as it was studied.

Every formula has to pass four rules:

  • Published research in people. Not a trend, not a single lab dish.
  • The studied amounts. The same daily doses and ratio as the research. No sprinkle doses.
  • Purity on the label. Every key ingredient’s purity stated, so you know what you are taking.
  • Independent testing. Made in a certified facility, with every batch tested by an outside lab.

ONCORA: the formula I could not buy

Our first product, ONCORA Prostate Health, is the formula from that research: 1,200 mg of curcumin and 300 mg of 90% pure ursolic acid a day, the 4 to 1 ratio studied, in a lipid softgel built for absorption.

Here is how it compares with what men buy today. The best-selling prostate supplements are built mainly on saw palmetto or plant sterols such as beta-sitosterol. The few that include turmeric carry a small fraction of the curcumin the research used. None that I could find combines curcumin and ursolic acid at the studied amounts and purity. ONCORA does, and every batch is independently tested to prove it.

ONCORA supports prostate wellness, and because curcumin is one of the most studied plant compounds in the world, it also brings support that human trials have measured on their own: antioxidant support, a healthy inflammatory response, joint comfort and recovery after exercise.*

What comes next

The gap I found is not unique to prostate health, so ONCORA is the first of six formulas. Five more are in development, each held to the same standard and each built on human research:

  • LUCORA for clear skin
  • CRINORA for thicker, fuller-looking hair
  • ZIZORA for restful sleep
  • STEADORA for healthy blood sugar levels already in the normal range
  • SILYVIA for healthy liver function

Full ingredients and amounts will be on each label at launch, never hidden in a blend.

Why I am telling you this

I am not a doctor, and ONCORA is not a treatment. Keep your appointments, ask every question, and talk to your doctor before you start anything new. I still do. But I believe men and their families deserve products that match the science, made by people who will show their work.

ONCORA launches in early 2027. Join the waitlist at medarishealth.com to be the first to know, read the research behind the formula, and follow what comes next.
